DMC Football Player is Kicking for a Cause
October 19, 2022
DMC Kicker Gianna Bennett (‘24) is turning heads this football season and using her talent on the field to support Count the Kicks, a program created by five Iowa women to reduce stillbirths by teaching expectant mothers to track fetal movements in the third trimester.
“I wanted to join Every Kick Counts because I know how important of an organization it is and I want to be a part of it in any way I can. I love playing football and I am excited to play with a greater purpose in mind,” she said. “I am looking forward to having a lot of fun this season, kicking a lot of extra points and field goals, raising money for Count the Kicks, and giving all the glory to God as I do it.”
So far, Gianna has raised more than $8,500 of her $10,000 goal. Supporters can make one-time donations or pledge per point. Stay up-to-date on her points and dollars raised.
Gianna’s dad Shaun says, “This is her living out DMC’s mission of impacting the world for Christ and is a direct reflection of her education and experience at DMC, for which we are so grateful.”
Additionally, Gianna’s longest field goal in practice is 53 yards and she averages 43 yards per kickoff. She is rated as a 4-star kicker by Kohl’s Professional Camps.
