Strategic Priorities 2024-2028

Des Moines Christian School’s 2024 – 2028 Strategic Plan is designed to position the school as a leader in providing an outstanding education for students in early education - 12th grade. Rooted in a foundation of Christian faith, DMC nurtures students in an engaging school community that focuses on students; prioritizes relationships among staff, students and families; and uniquely equips students to recognize their God-given gifts and talents.

The plan focuses on deepening learning to maximize each student’s potential; strengthening instructional practices; expanding opportunities to accomplish more together through enrollment and philanthropy; and board and strategic governance.

Students who are Whole and Fully Developed
Strategic Academic Plan

DMC’s strategic academic plan embraces our vision to comprehensively support student learning, spiritual formation, behavior and social-emotional needs. This Christ-centered, student-focused plan intentionally focuses on a culture of gospel transformation and learning.

  1. Christian Professional Learning Communities
As a community in Christ, we know that God has created each child on purpose for a purpose; that He loves each child deeply and values each one of them. We desire to love like Christ; therefore, we strive to know each child excellently and commit to be collaborative, creative builders of learning. We believe that to truly know and care for each child requires intentional collaboration focused on the right work. We are focused on deep learning and expanded programming that is cohesive starting in early education through high school, a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for students to meet them in their learning journey, and professional and leadership development for teachers.

  2.  Biblical Worldview

Everything that we are and everything that we do cannot be fully understood apart from God and the truth and wisdom with which he has woven the universe. Therefore, all our instruction, content, relationships, and practices, amongst our community and with a watching world, ought to reinforce this truth. God’s message of a people and world created good, broken by sin, and in need of redemption and restoration through Jesus (CBRR) will be the foundation of our training for our students, teachers, parents, and community. Ultimately, this commitment to biblical worldview education is the key to fulfilling our mission to equip minds and nurture hearts to impact the world for Christ.

Protecting and Providing for the Mission

Governance
Implementing best practices in nonprofit governance ensures the DMC Board of Trustees intentionally protects DMC’s mission to equip minds and nurture hearts to impact the world for Christ, both now and in the future. The board also manages strategic investments in the school, to ensure the mission is provided for through responsible stewardship and fiscal management.

Expanding God’s Kingdom

Enrollment and Philanthropy
DMC’s culture is one of generosity. Our four-year strategic plan establishes goals to achieve our strategic priorities through tuition and philanthropy. Our plans include four giving priorities: Capital (for the current campus and a future campus), Student Experience (Lion Fund), Families (Tuition Assistance), and Future Generations (Endowment).
