At Des Moines Christian School, our students and teachers dream big because we have a big God! We are launching four, unique projects to provide opportunities for students of all ages to grow in knowledge, through experiences grounded in our biblical worldview. From outdoor learning and agribusiness, to professional communication and entrepreneurial skills training, I invite you to give and enrich the learning experiences we offer our students.

Every year-end gift is an investment in our mission to equip minds and nurture hearts to impact the world for Christ! Thank you for being part of our legacy of generosity.

For His Glory!

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7

Establishing Outdoor Learning

Join us in transforming education by supporting our initiative to create vibrant outdoor learning spaces for early education and elementary students! Our desire is to provide students with the opportunity to connect with God’s creation–get them digging in the dirt, watching plants grow, discovering the consistency of mud, and studying the variety of birds and trees around them.

Current research on outdoor learning shows that being outside improves learners’ attention, levels of stress, self-discipline, interest, and enjoyment in learning. Your generous gifts will be transformed into these essential spaces, including a new greenhouse, providing children with the tools they need to explore God’s world around them.

Launching Agribusiness

Imagine being at the ground level of a project that will transform the way students study science at DMC. With new curriculum provided in partnership with the Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation, DMC will nurture the next generation of leaders in agribusiness. For years, our academic teams have dreamed of the learning possibilities that would include a greenhouse on campus.

Providing middle school students diverse experiences often helps them discover new passions. Agribusiness encompasses a wide range of activities and industries, from farming and robotics to marketing and budgeting. Students will learn that agribusiness is a part of the broader economy.

Introducing Entrepreneurial Studies

Today’s students are tomorrow’s entrepreneurs. Help us teach our students how to grow their dreams into reality with the entrepreneurial skills needed to run a small business. Your investment in this project provides the start-up funds needed for students to establish a coffee cart business inside the school walls.

Students will name and manage the coffee cart, learn marketing tactics, and tithe profits earned. Our vision is to grow from the cart to a full coffee shop at our new high school campus. We hope this entrepreneurial mindset grows in current and future students, resulting in the establishment of additional student-led businesses.

Training Next-Gen Professionals

According to college representatives, employment agencies, and counselors, the number one distinction today’s students need to differentiate themselves from their peers is professional communication skills. This includes the abilities that enable effective and clear interactions in a workplace setting. You can equip our students with the tools and confidence they need to succeed.

Your gift ensures a one-day training with Dardis Communications will become a part of the junior class experience and help students better pursue their calling. A full-day workshop focuses on growing essential skills including leadership, communication, professional presence, and interviewing techniques.

Thank you for supporting students at DMC

We invite you to invest in our mission of equipping minds and nurturing hearts to impact the world for Christ. DMC is a community of generous families who together invest in projects of all sizes to benefit our school.

Impact Tomorrow Today (ITT) is a five-year campaign that began in July of 2020 to provide for the current and future needs of our school. The ITT campaign includes the following five giving categories: Lion Fund, capital projects, endowment, tuition assistance, and debt retirement.

ITT Giving Categories

Give Today

Debt Retirement/Faculty $2.5M (Funded)

The quality of our programming begins with faculty who are passionate about learning and about guiding students to find their God-given purpose. Once our debt is retired, the $550,000 currently allocated for annual debt service will be used for faculty compensation.

Capital Projects $12.3M

The DMC campus is a place for educational and spiritual formation. The capital portion of the Impact Tomorrow Today campaign includes renovating existing spaces and adding new spaces in the middle school and high school to maximize the use of our campus.

At DMC students learn they are uniquely created in the image of God; these news spaces allow the experiences to happen.  The new space has additional STEAM offerings as well as business and technology labs.

Our students are called to be the light of the world. The new 300-seat Chapel will cultivate that identity through large group studies, engaging speakers and events. Enhanced spaces lead to stronger mission delivery.

New and Renovated Spaces

The Lion Fund $6.7M

One of the giving priorities of the ITT campaign is the Lion Fund. This fund supports the continued enhancement of our academic and co-curricular programs and demonstrates community support of our school’s mission. All donations to the Lion Fund provide immediate resources that directly impact student life now.

  • Unrestricted gifts to the Lion Fund allow DMC to make immediate investments in the student experience. Unrestricted gifts give the most flexibility to accelerate plans for programming, classroom updates, and meeting unexpected expenses such as emergency tuition assistance.

  • Restricted gifts are accepted when they align with our mission and Strategic Plan. Restricted gifts can include full funding of larger projects or support for experiences like mission trips.

Tuition Assistance $3M

Tuition assistance programs provide financial accessibility for families of many income levels. Our school is responsible for fundraising a portion of the Heart of Iowa School Tuition Organization’s funds every calendar year. These gifts allow us to provide needs-based tuition assistance to many of our middle-income, multi-student families.

Endowment and Planned Giving $5M

To provide financial stability for generations to come, the ITT campaign established DMC's endowment. Generally gifts to the endowment are unrestricted; however, DMC will accept restricted gifts when they align with our mission and strategic plans. The General Endowment Fund Prospectus and Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund Prospectus outline the administrative terms of the funds.
